Unified reporting model — five sources

Five systems that never agreed on volumes and metrics.

Problem

Five systems that never agreed on volumes and metrics.

Approach

Developed and still maintain the unified presentation layer for a US operator's reporting: volumes and metrics views fed by five different source systems over Snowflake, all resolved through the unified cross-reference system. This is the layer business users actually touch - the one place where production, accounting, reserves, drilling, and scheduling data agree with each other. Built for the long haul: maintained through source-system changes without breaking downstream consumers.

Architecture

5 source systems prod · acct · reserves Unified Xref resolution Snowflake Volumes & metrics views stable contract

The presentation layer is a contract

Every dashboard and export downstream depends on these views staying stable while five upstream systems churn. Treating the presentation layer as a versioned contract - additive changes, deprecation windows, parity checks - is what makes 'unified reporting' stay true after go-live.
